“Holding a Certificate III as a Diesel and Heavy Earth Moving Equipment Fitter, I joined the 49th Battalion, Royal Queensland Regiment on 17 August 1989 as a Craftsman in the technical corps of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME) who are tasked with the maintenance of the Army’s modern hardware and equipment. Following the completion of Officer Cadet Training at Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, I received a Queen’s Commission in 1993. Since 1989, I have served in a variety of roles with units in Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and South Australia. I hold two academic degrees, one from the Australian National University (Anthropology Major) and the other from the University of Adelaide (Honours, majoring in WW1 Aboriginal Military History, South Australia). I am still Serving.”
