“It’s been an honour and privilege to follow my parents’ military footsteps into an evolving Defence Force committed to national security and career development.”
I enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy as a Medic in 1995 and have served on HMAS Hobart, Gascoyne, Stuart and Darwin, as well as many other vessels as part of operational duties. My operational service included Operations Relex, Resolute, Slipper, Manitou and Landscape. In 2009, I obtained a Medical Degree from the University of Newcastle. I am currently working as a GP in regional Australia
I joined the Australian Military so that I could not only serve our country but also further develop my character for the future. As well as both my parents, many other family members have either served before me or served alongside me over the years. Currently, my sister Taslena is still serving in the Navy, and we are all very proud of her.
It has been an honour to follow my parents’ path into the Military, and I recommend it to any younger person considering it.
