The world’s oldest competing athlete is 102-year-old Ruth Frith, who won gold at the World Masters Games in 2012. She has an Order of Australia for her contribution to Sport. For Ruth, it’s more than medals; it’s about sport keeping her body and mind healthy. This image has been exhibited in Brazil and at the Los Angeles Centre for Digital Art, and a copy is on permanent display at the United Nations in Geneva. The interview with Ruth was played on fbi Radio. Ruth lives in Brisbane with her daughter, Helen, a fellow Order of Australia recipient who represented Australia at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics.
