“I understand your culture, so you should learn about mine.”
When I was still at school I saw the Norforce guys in their uniforms and knew that this is what I wanted to do. I have eight siblings and my big brother was in Norforce a long time ago, but my decision to join is my own. By being in Norforce, I feel proud knowing that I am protecting Australia for all Australians. I enlisted just two years ago in 2022 when I was 19 years old. I enjoy mentoring the new recruits, sometimes I feel nervous, but they look to me for guidance and I like to give them reassurance.
Culture and ceremony is very important and you can come and learn about it. Although men and women have separate ceremonies, you can come and learn how to sing and dance Bungun.
