I enlisted back in 2009, as I had family members already serving. I saw all the ads by Defence on television and knew that the really long hair I had would have to be cut off once I joined. I enlisted because I wanted to look after my Clan and gain knowledge from Defence that I could take back to my community. I share my knowledge and culture with Defence, also showing them how to live off the land. But to do this there has to be respect between Defence and community. This has to come first.
